Meeting With Chief of Department Re Neighborhood Safety Teams

On February 16, 2022, a meeting was held with the Chief of Department and representatives of all five police unions regarding “Neighborhood Safety Teams.” This initiative will utilize approximately 423 members of all ranks patrolling the 30 most problematic and violent precincts (and four PSAs). Each team will be comprised of one Sergeant and five others who will be working anti-crime in modified uniform. Thus far there are nine Detectives assigned to this initiative.
