We are still waiting for the protocols, and when we receive them, the union will review them with our attorneys and Narcotics Bureau personnel before any roll out.
Here’s the backstory: On February 1, 2021, there was a meeting with Labor Relations regarding the rollout of body cameras for Manhattan North Narcotics. On February 9th, we expressed our concerns to the Department. We are gathering information from all Narcotics Detectives and Detectives in all Boroughs about safety concerns on the issuance of body cameras for the Narcotics Division.
