The Governor of the State of New Jersey recently signed an amendment to the State’s firearms law which prohibits the possession of large capacity ammunition magazines. This new law defines a large capacity magazine as capable of holding more than ten (10) rounds of ammunition to be fed continuously into semi-automatic firearms. Violation of this law constitutes a crime in New Jersey. Please read the following NYPD Finest Message (pdf file) which outlines the particulars of this new law, currently in effect.
