Marissa Larsen, the daughter of retired Det. Arthur J. Larsen (who retired out of the Intelligence Division in 1987), suffered a devastating house fire on September 11, 2025. It completely destroyed their home in Breezy Point, New York. Marissa and her two children lost everything — clothing, furniture, household items, and cherished personal belongings. Marissa’s children include a special needs daughter, which has made this overwhelming situation even more difficult, as stability and routine are essential for her care. The family is doing everything possible to gather support from friends, family, and the community, but the loss is extensive. Any financial assistance, gift cards, or resources that anyone can provide will make a tremendous difference as Marissa and her family work to secure housing, replace essentials, and begin the long road to recovery.
